Register Your Property
There is no such thing as a normal location. Our contacts-Location Managers, Production Companies and Photographers-might need a power station in Scotland, a farm in Yorkshire, or a family house in London. Salt is constantly looking for new properties for our library; we source and represent locations from all over the UK and beyond.
Salt will endeavour to negotiate the best fee for your property. There is no charge to register-we simply take a 20% commission (+VAT) of the final facility fee should a Production Company or Photographer end up shooting at your property. We'll take care of your property: Salt will ensure that Production Companies or Photographers are fully insured for damage and public liability.
To register with Salt, we will need you to take photographs of your property, both interior and exterior, and email them to us with a completed registration form.
It would help us if you photograph your property in the following way:
Photograph in landscape format, not portrait. Take photos from each corner of the room, and also from the doorway, and looking towards the doorway. We find the best way is to start from the front door, and take photos as you walk through the property. Imagine you were creating a guided tour. The more angles we have, the easier it will be to propose your property as a location, so be sure to photograph reverse angles-for example, photograph both up and down the hallway, up and down the stairs, etc.

Of course, Salt cannot guarantee that your property will be used. If your location is short-listed by the production company or photographer, we will arrange a brief visit to assess its suitability, and we'll let you know as soon as the decision is made.
